Epson America, Inc., better known for affordable printers for the masses and leading edge colour printers for professionals announced second generation Supertank line of cartridge-free EcoTank^® printers.

Available at London Drugs, Staples, Best Buy and the online Epson stoe, they include three new Expression EcoTank home models, two new WorkForce EcoTank printers for the small medium business market and new to the line, two new Expression Premium printers.

The Expression Premium feature a fifth black ink for improved photo and document print quality. All seven models offer a new industrial design featuring integrated ink tanks, neatly placed in the front of the new clean line chassis with uniquely keyed auto-stop ink bottles for easy filling of each correct colour.

This means no messy ink re-filling!

The new auto-stop ink bottles feature a unique spout and inlet design for each colour to prevent misfiling, and stops automatically when the tank is full.

For folks new to Epson’s Eco Tank series launched two years ago, The EcoTank printers include up to two years of ink in the box equivalent to about 30 ink cartridge sets which would cost more than $2.300. Although the initial purchase price is several hundred dollars more than traditional ink cartridge models, these printers start paying themselves off after three 500 sheet paper packs.

eco tank replacement bottles cost about the same as a cartridge equivalent but will last two more years yielding about 14,000 black text pages and 11,000 colour pages. The low-cost replacement ink bottles provide savings of up to 80 percent on ink.^.The more you print, the more you save.
