Amazon Cash is here in Canada. The new service lets customers add cash (instead from their debit or credit cards) to their Amazon Balance at more than 6,000 physical Canada Post locations around the country, with more partners being added regularly.

How does it work? Customers visit a participating store, show the cashier their Amazon Cash barcode to scan. (Visit amazon.ca/cash on your phone or desktop and navigate to “get my barcode”)

After the pay the amount of money they want added to their Amazon Balance it becomes available within seconds in their Amazon account to shop for millions of eligible physical products and digital content on Amazon.ca.

The free service uses the same barcode which you can print or store on your phone. Customers can add between $15 and $500 in a single Amazon Cash transaction. Daily limits also apply and may vary by retailer. The funds show in your Amazon Gift Card Balance.

You cannot withdraw cash from these funds, but they never expire.
