SHARP 70” 8K TV SELLING ACROSS THE POND AT MONTH’S END FOR…11,199 €

That’s $17,422 CDN folks. From screen and TV maker SHARP, after a seemingly long hiatus from store show floors the Japanese electronics company is blowing the dust off its unique IGZO fine screen technology for next Father of all TV’s.

The 8K screen was shown this weekend in Rome, hosted by Berlin based global Tech Show organizer IFA at their annual three-day Global Press Conference for more than 360 journalists flown in from around the world.

The big trend for 2018?

It’s challenging to pick new trends at the recent 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. After all, with 4,000 vendors showing big and small technology spread out over 2.7 million square feet between several spread-out huge halls, it’s impossible to see it all.

This year though, one repetitive new technology won hands-down. Voice assistant technology from Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Home Assistant were everywhere and in the most interesting appliances.

EPSON’S TOP TWO SUPERTANK PRINTERS OFFER BIG INK SAVINGS IN MANY WAYS

Much has been said in the media about Epson’s  Supertank printers launched two years ago. The new second generation seven models are out just in time for the holidays. Like their predecessors, they are unique in that they come with bottles of ink in the box instead of normal cartridges most printers have. These bottle-fed printers have enough ink to print for two years yielding 14,000 pages black/9,000 colour – equivalent to about 30 traditional ink cartridges.

WILL SAMSUNG AND APPLE BEAT UPCOMING LG’S V30 CUTTING EDGE FEATURES?

The rumour mill has been at high pitch over the past few weeks on what smart phones electronic giants will soon be launching. It’s still anyone’s guess what the new phones will be like from Apple and main competitor Samsung, whose new Note 8 launches August 23, but LG has taken a different approach, bi-passing the Fake News tech world.

LG Electronics has been pealing payers of new features on its upcoming LG V30 phone will have, expected to launch at IFA Berlin 2017 in a few weeks. Here are some that currently put it in the lead of current phones in the market:

  • An F1.6 aperture camera and glass lens in the dual camera delivering 25 percent more light to the sensor compared to an F1.8 lens. Glass Crystal Clear Lens also delivers greater light-collecting ability than a plastic lens as well as better colour reproduction. The camera in the V30 cuts edge distortion by a third and still be a lower profile, but 30 percent smaller in size compared to its previous model. It will feature UX featuring laser detection AF, optical image stabilization and electronic image stabilization.
